Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has slammed the global community for advocating for talks between the Kenya Kwanza administration and the opposition led by azimio la Umoja to end the continuing anti-government protests.
Speaking in Isiolo County on Thursday, the second head of state stated that President William Ruto will not hold negotiations with opposition leader Raila Odinga, whom he blames for the violence, fatalities, and property destruction witnessed during the protests, labelling the former premier a 'criminal.'
This is after international dignitaries called for an end to the violence and destruction of property experienced in the country during the anti-government protests and offered to mediate between the conflicting parties.
“We recognise the daily hardship faced by many Kenyans and urge all parties to table their concerns through a meaningful dialogue and resolve their differences peacefully to build the nation together, ensuring no further loss of life.” it adds.

The envoys said they are willing to arbitrate between the government and the opposition, adding, "We stand ready to support the parties in their efforts to find constructive and peaceful solutions."
"We want to ask church leaders and the international community...it is wrong to ask the President to sit down with a criminal," Gachagua remarked at the Etoro Ltungai Adjuction section during the issuance of title deeds.
The deputy president also questioned why senior Azimio la Umoja One Kenya alliance members were absent from this week's protests, implying that the opposition leaders are now abandoning a sinking ship.
"Ile kitu ya kustaabisha Wakenya ni kuwa hawa watu saa ile waliona kimeumana hakuna alikanyanga town. Mmoja alijificha Nairobi Hospital akasema akuwe admitted, awekwe tu maji kwa sababu si mgonjwa ndio asiende maandamano," said the DP.
He also encouraged Raila to wait until the 2027 General Election to stake his claim to the presidency rather than reportedly attempting to destabilize the Kenya Kwanza government.
Last week, Gachagua told the former prime minister to retire from politics because kenyans don't want him anymore.
"How much blood must you shed, Raila Odinga, to be satisfied?" Kenyans have rejected you five times...What are you fighting for now that you are 80 years old? Unafanya ni nini?" he posed the question.
"Unapanga kila siku watu wauwawe, mali ya watu iharibiwe na wewe hakuna kazi unafanya, wako hakuna kazi wanafanya," he explained.
"I told President Uhuru Kenyatta that huyu mtu unatuletea is the problem of this country, and that the problems of this country will end tukimalizana na huyu mtu," Gachagua stated.
