Jonathan Bii, the governor of Uasin Gishu, has pledged to break the impasse over the Finland scholarship program and guarantee the students' ongoing education.

On Monday in Eldoret town, Bii said he would soon meet with his CECs and the task force established to investigate the matter and develop a strategy.

According to Bii, the county is also implementing the recommendations of the EACC and other government organizations and those made by the county assembly's special committee on Finland sponsorship.


He advised that individuals discovered to have stolen money intended for students be brought to justice.

Each parent also sent Ksh. 100,000 for three months' worth of housing, which came to Ksh. 80,000. Additionally, a Ksh.30,000 insurance deposit for each student was to be the account run by Uasin Gishu county staff.
