She candidly shared that, like everyone else, she first learned about the Wakiritho song after its release, and prior to that, she had no knowledge that the shooting and recording were in progress.
"Mnajua nlikuja kuona hii song, video, and the song yenye they did na Octo Wakiritho just like you and everybody else in the room niliona na kila mtu. Maboys wameenda huko wamefanya song na octopizo na wameshoot video boom no spreadsheets no nothing," Rachel stated.
Mwalimu further emphasized that the Sailors Gang had initially discussed the deal with her, and she found the idea appealing.
She also added that she had advised them to let management take over, but the members of Sailors Gang grew impatient and proceeded to execute everything without her knowledge.
"This boys came to me and told me wanataka kuingia studio na octo, nikawambia hiyo ni idea poa , mimi naona inaweza , infact tuko na hii song nini nini nikasema sawa lakini let management now mange it , and we had started but they got impatient. Mentality ya huyu anatukazia we need the song now we want this song now now wakarrange kivyao wakfanya song wakashoot video nlikuja kuona kama kila mtu," she said.
The radio presenter asserted that the renowned Wakiritho collaboration with Octopizzo did not yield any royalties for the Genge tone musical band, citing their naivety when entering into the deal.
