Veteran socialite and reality TV star Faith Makau, widely known as Amber Ray, has opened up once more about her past marriages.
In a series of Instagram Stories, Amber revealed that she had been married twice as a second wife, explaining that in both cases, she was unaware that her husbands were already married.
She further shared that she was deceived and unfairly labeled a homewrecker. Despite the challenges, the mother of two stated that she chose to view the experiences as valuable life lessons.
“Let me remind you of this: I’ve shared my truth openly. Yes, I was married twice as a second wife, but the truth is, I didn’t know they were married. I was lied to, used, and left to carry all the blame, blame I took as a lesson. I even shared my story on YouTube because I refuse to hide from my past,” Amber shared.

In addition, Amber noted that even though she was blamed for breaking up the marriages, she was not the first or last side chick to her ex-husbands, adding that she already acknowledged and paid for her past mistakes.
“And let’s be honest, I wasn’t their first or last ‘side chick.’ But I’ve already paid for my mistakes, owned my truth, and moved forward to live my best life unapologetically,” she added.
Amber Ray’s candid posts follow backlash after she was labeled a hypocrite for expressing support for popular Nigerian influencer and actress Annie Idibia, who recently divorced Nigerian musician Innocent Idibia, also known as 2Baba.
The reality star lamented that critics have bombarded her direct messages with insults simply for sympathizing with Annie during this difficult time.
“It is crazy how some people are flooding my DMs with insults just because I aired my opinion about Annie’s story. I’ve been called a hypocrite and accused of making other women cry because I was once a second wife,” she stated.
She added that it is sad how men’s infidelity is justified while women are attacked and shamed even when they have been deceived.
“It’s sad how society loves to justify men’s actions when they cheat but is quick to attack women, even when they’ve been deceived. Let me be clear: no one can make me feel bad about my past anymore. I’ve healed, I’ve grown, and I’m not here to carry shame that isn’t mine.
“If you’re in my DMs with negativity, save yourself the energy; it won’t break me. To everyone else. Let’s focus on holding the right people accountable and supporting each other to grow and heal,” she said.
On Monday, January 27, 2025, Amber Ray expressed her heartfelt sympathy for Annie Idibia, sharing how deeply she could relate to the pain and emotional burden of her breakup.
Amber acknowledged the immense toll that the end of a long-standing marriage can take, especially on the person left behind after being abandoned.
Speaking directly to Annie, she expressed her hope that her message would reach her and let her know she had Amber’s full support during this challenging time.
“My heart breaks for Annie. After 25 years of marriage, I can’t even begin to imagine what she’s going through (sic). The pain, the betrayal, the overwhelming emotions—and to add insult to injury, the relentless attacks on social media. It’s a lot for one person to endure. Annie, if you ever see this, please know I’m sending you so much love, strength, and the warmest hugs. You don’t deserve this.” Amber wrote.
