Jacky Vike, an actress, comedian, and content producer, has implored Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja to assist her mother fervently.

Vike, better known as "Awinja" due to the role she performed on Citizen TV's "Papa Shirandula" program, disclosed that both of her parents once worked as City Hall police, or "kanjos," in the past.

The content producer said on the "Convo Unscripted" podcast that although her mother is still alive and works at City Hall, her father has long since died away.

She continued, however, that she has tried to pursue her mother's right to a retirement package from City Hall throughout the years, but she is now on the point of giving up altogether.

Given that he now holds the top position at City Hall, Vike wants Sakaja to help her follow through on her mother's retirement package.

"My dad was very important to us, but he went away while I was still a senior in high school. I've watched Mamangu struggle with all of us, which is why I anakuwanga kwa mdomo yangu sana," she remarked.

“Wote walikuwa wanafanya job kanjo, na unajua kanjo ulikuwa unakaa ata miezi tatu-nne kama hujalipwa mshahara. Mamangu bado leo anakimbiza pesa yake ya retirement, Sakaja do de ting’. Mamangu amepanda hizo stairs za City Hall sana.”

Jacky Vike, who turned 40 on Friday, also talked about how she first met the late, great actor Charles Bukeko, who developed and starred in the musical "Papa Shirandula," and how he impacted her life.

She claimed that despite repeatedly declining the chance to portray Awinja, Bukeko persisted in assuring her he believed in her. Eventually, she said yes to the role, which changed her life's path for good.
