Police in Seme sub-county have launched an investigation into the death of an assistant chief, whose body was discovered dumped in a ditch near Kolenyo Market.
A passerby discovered the body of John Olum, 58, of East Katieno Sub Location on Wednesday at 6.30 a.m.
The deceased was positively recognized by a squad of security officials who arrived at the spot, according to South Central Seme location chief Caleb Apondi, who confirmed the occurrence.
The reason for his death has not been determined; nonetheless, there were apparent strangulation marks on his neck.
The body was brought to Kisumu County Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
