A probe has been launched after a middle-aged man allegedly murdered his wife with a claw hammer during a domestic dispute.
The 30-year-old woman died while the perpetrator, identified as Niphael Kiprotich Ngetich, fled the scene after committing the horrific act, according to Bomet East sub-county Police Commander John Karani.
Detectives processed the site after the crime and collected the killer's weapons, which included a claw hammer, a kitchen knife, and a wooden stick.

According to the police chief, the deceased's body had also been mutilated.
"The body had severe physical injuries, and some parts had been severed." He appears to have also killed her with a kitchen knife. "We're still trying to figure out what happened before the incident," Karani said.
According to a neighbor, a ruckus and a furious yell were heard coming from the couple's compound before the man was observed fleeing hurriedly towards the Bomet-Narok highway.
The deceased's body has already been transported to the mortuary at Longisa County Referral Hospital.
