Police officers have arrested a 70-year-old man for allegedly killing his 32-year-old son in Kirinyaga over land disputes.
According to Gichugu Police Commander Johnson Wachira, the suspect, Francis Njagi, was arrested in connection with the incident in Gwama village, Karumandi Ward.
The suspect, who is being arrested at Kianyaga police station, is claimed to have gotten into an argument with his son, James Mwobe, over a plot of land.
The suspect's wife, Irene Njagi, stated that their son intended to plant macadamia trees on the property.

The disagreement escalated, and the suspect stabbed his son, who was later pronounced dead at Kianyaga Sub County Hospital.
"A neighbour rushed him to hospital following a distress call from the mother to the deceased," according to the police.
The body was transferred to the Kerugoya Mortuary. Investigations are ongoing, and the suspect will be arraigned.
