Police officers have arrested one suspect and recovered an AK47 rifle that had been stolen from a nearby police station in Kirinyaga County.
Kennedy Mwangi Wangeci was apprehended following an intelligence-led operation, and the missing gun was discovered buried in a shallow pit within his enclosure.
According to the DCI, the police weapon and 18 rounds of ammunition were found buried in a shallow hole outside his home.

A G3 rifle stolen with the AK47 has yet to be recovered. The two police officers from whom the guns were stolen are currently being investigated.Police say the man is being probed to learn more about how the rifle was found in his hands.
