Four police officers in connection with human trafficking after 37 Ethiopian nationals who were found in a house in the Mwihoko area of Kayole have been detained.
With assistance from Githurai police officers, the DCI's Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) conducted a multi-agency investigation on Tuesday that resulted in the discovery of the Ethiopian citizens.
At the time of the arrest, the people were found by the authorities sleeping on the floor in one of the houses.
“It was established the two were police officers armed with a Beretta with 12 rounds and another armed with a Ceska with 15 rounds from Githurai and Starehe,” read a police report.
The police stated during questioning that they were planning an ambush for the same people.

During the incident, the two officers were injured in their ankles after they leaped from the perimeter wall.
“Later on while at the scene two other officers from Starehe armed with a Ceska with 9 rounds and another one armed with a Ceska with 15 rounds arrived at the scene with two other aliens handcuffed on board motor vehicle."
A manhunt has been initiated to locate the individuals' host and the house's owner where they were found.
