Two people lost their lives after a group of people attacked individuals who were planting on a family farm with pangas and crude weapons at the Kisonei location in Baringo Central.
The family of the late Richard Kibet Chumba, 69 years old, who the rowdy members killed, stated that the attackers had a land dispute with their family in the past, despite the area Chief, Paul Korir, resolving it.
According to police, they were ambushed while planting, resulting in the elderly man being killed on the spot after being severely cut all over his body and one middle-aged man seriously injured.
Police reports indicate that the area chief informed them of the incident.
However, upon arrival at the scene, Richard Chumba had already passed away, and his son, Patrick Komen, also passed away on the way to MTRH for treatment following the ambush.

Confirming the incident, Baringo Central Deputy OCPD Enrico Telewa Lyomu said that they are in pursuit of the criminals who are currently at large.
Further, he mentioned that the family and their attackers, who are immediate neighbors, had a history of conflict.
The same attackers had previously assaulted the wife of the deceased, leaving her with serious injuries, and also attacked the daughter of the late man in 2019.
Despite these incidents being reported to the area chief, locals claim no action has been taken.
The families of the deceased individuals are living in fear as the killers remain at large.
