The arrests come after people urged authorities to apprehend individuals responsible for a spate of attacks. According to preliminary reports, the individuals are suspected to be members of a group known as 42 brothers.

"Two days ago two people, among them a teacher from a local school, were attacked in Uriri," Achola stated.

The two were part of a gang searching for suspected livestock rustlers. Police also stated that a crackdown on persons associated with illicit activity in the region is continuing.
