The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has raided former Kilifi County Head of Procurement Matano Riziki Choga's properties over public fund embezzlement and conflict of interest allegations.
According to sources at the commission, Choga is suspected of amassing significant wealth through fraudulent tender deals and kickbacks while serving in the county government.
EACC spokesman Eric Ngumbi confirmed the operation, emphasizing its importance in combating corruption at the county level.
"This operation is part of our continuous efforts to investigate allegations against various officials within Kilifi County Government," Ngumbi stated.
