The body of a 40-year-old man was found dumped in the River Awach in Rachuonyo North, Homa Bay County.

Police removed the body of the dead, Elijah Bosire, who was from Kisii county, and transported it to Kendu Bay Adventist Mortuary in anticipation of the postmortem.

The deceased, a farmhand, vanished on Sunday night while at work.

Assistant Chief Athanasio Onduto of the Upper Kakwajuok Sub Location believes the victim was slain elsewhere, and his body was placed in the river.

Two suspects have been detained at the Kendu Bay police station after being arrested in connection with the incident.

 in other news, according to a postmortem examination, Maryanne Wangari, a student at Bomet University, was strangled to death before being put in the river.

The postmortem investigation of the 22-year-old university student was overseen by Dr. Weldon Kirui, Medical Superintendent at Longisa Referral Hospital.

According to the investigation's results, the pupil was found to have died from strangling. There were also lacerations all over the student's genitalia. No other wounds were discovered on the body, according to Dr Kirui.

On Monday morning, a university student's lifeless body was floating in a river outside Bomet. She was identified as Mary Ann Wangari, a fourth-year Bomet University student who is 22 years old.

According to authorities, the body was found floating in the Nyangores River's turbulent waters in the Chebirir area. According to Deputy Police Commandant Ali Bashir of the Bomet Central sub-county, the communication and public relations student vanished last Tuesday.

 According to Bashir, a public member discovered the woman's body and informed the police. Additionally, he observed that the body had started to decompose.
