Rahab, a detainee at Langata Women's Prison, shared her story of how her involvement with a boy below the age of 18 led to her incarceration.

Speaking to Simon Kibe, the host of the Njeraini citu show, Rahab stated that she met the young man at a club in Kisumu while out with friends.

Rahab was initially unclear of the boy's actual age because he appeared mature and had dreadlocks. He also gave the impression of being financially secure because he owned a barbershop and a carwash, which contributed to the appearance of maturity.

They remained in love for some time before an unfortunate series of events saw both Rahab and the boy detained by the authorities. She was arrested and imprisoned at Langata Women's Prison after being accused of taking advantage of a child at the station because of his age.

She admitted to having an affair with him but claimed to not have known that he was a minor. The child was clean shaven the day of the hearing, making him look younger than when he had dreadlocks.

Rahab eventually served 15 years in jail. She was only 24 years old at the time. She complained that jail life was challenging and that by not working during her prime years, she was wasting years of her life.

Rahab gave young ladies wise counsel based on her own experience, advising them to be cautious while getting into love relationships. She underlined the significance of being careful about the partners people select in order to avoid getting into predicaments that could have legal repercussions, as it did in her case. She hoped that by telling her tale, she would increase awareness and inspire others to make thoughtful choices in issues of the heart, sparing them from going through similar struggles that can endanger their freedom and future.
