In a carefully planned operation driven by intelligence, detectives have apprehended a 41-year-old man suspected of having ties to terrorism. During the operation carried out in the Riruta area of Dagoreti, located in Kiambu County, law enforcement agents seized Ferdinand Indangasi near Skymatt supermarket. They also successfully retrieved a loaded firearm containing six rounds of ammunition. Additionally, the detectives discovered five sachets containing a white substance suspected to be cocaine in his possession.

After a more thorough examination of the suspect's mobile phone, law enforcement officers uncovered radicalization materials containing extremist teachings, which were linked to the Al-Shabaab terrorist network.

Following this discovery, the suspect cooperated with detectives and guided them to his residence situated behind the supermarket. Upon forcibly entering the premises, the detectives recovered a Glock pistol loaded with six rounds of 9mm caliber ammunition, a sum of Sh31,000 in cash, and 25 kilograms of 4-inch nails believed to be intended for use in the construction of improvised explosive devices.

Following a thorough background check of the suspect conducted at the DCI-Anti Terror Police Unit headquarters, it came to light that the individual in question had a significant criminal history. He had previously spent a 15-year sentence in the Shimo La Tewa prison, indicating a history of serious criminal activity.
