A Nairobi court has granted Abdi Yusuf Ksh.300,000 cash bail, alleging that he is linked to Garissa attack mastermind Mohamed Kuno alias Gamadhere.

Magistrate Agnes Mwangi ruled on Thursday that the charges had not been established and that granting the accused person bail would be unjust.

"It would be unjust for a court to act on such information about someone who is entitled to be presumed innocent until proven guilty." "I find that argument to be without merit," the court ruled.

In this instance, Abdi Yusuf was accused of getting a National ID card by purporting to be the son of Ralia Mohammed Wardere alias Iron Lady, which he knew was fraudulent.

The court stated that the assertion that he is a Somali national has not been substantiated and is still speculation.

He is also charged with fabricating the abovementioned ID and illegally entering the country.

He also pled not guilty to another count of misrepresenting the ID card.

The investigating officer in the case claimed that he used an identification card belonging to one Abdi Yusuf Ali, a brother to Mohammed Kuno alias Sheikh Mahamud aka Gamadhere, who is accused of masterminding the Garissa University massacre.

Previously, the accused was charged with receiving 5.6 million shillings from businessman Hassan Ali Hassa by falsely claiming to be able to import various cosmetics, Nutella, Chocolates, and aptamill from Europe, which he knew was fake.

He is free on Ksh. 300,000 cash bond and his case will be heard on October 12.
