Police in Mwala, Machakos County, are investigating the death of a 77-year-old man who was found deceased in a hotel room after checking in with a young woman.
James Maingi, who hails from Lower Yatta in Kitui County, was discovered dead on a hotel bed in Masii market shortly after 7 p.m.
According to police, James Maingi was found naked. Gladys Maina, 32, who had checked in with Maingi, was discovered in the room.
“The deceased’s bag was found to have 25 tablets of men's booster and four empty sachets of the tablets that he is believed to have taken,” reads a police report

Maingi's body was transferred to Machakos Funeral Home for a post-mortem, and the woman was arrested for further questioning, according to the police.
