The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) detained a man who was extorting money from members of the public by selling fake Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) enlistment letters.
According to the EACC, Patrick Njue was arrested in response to complaints from locals in Central Kenya, which prompted the commission to investigate and conclude that he had been extorting members of the public.

"Following the arrest of the suspect, the Commission has received several other complaints from victims who have allegedly lost millions of shillings to the suspect in pursuit of admission of their sons and daughters to KDF or other security forces. He is believed to have engaged in such activities for years." reads part of the statement
Njue had demanded payments ranging from Ksh200,000 to Ksh400,000. The EACC said He was arrested in Sagana and processed at the EACC Central Regional Office in Nyeri.
The Commission requested anyone with information about the suspect to contact or visit the nearest EACC office.
