Authorities in Nanyuki have confiscated ethanol worth over Ksh.500,000 in Barguret, Kieni East, Nyeri County, suspected of being used to make the illegal drink.
According to Laikipia East Deputy County Commissioner Patrick Muli, police officers seized the ethanol on Friday after receiving a tip from members of the public.
Muli stated that cops seized approximately seven liters of ethanol, with one gallon believed to have a street worth of Ksh.77,000.
The administrator stated that brewers have developed various methods of preparing illicit alcohol with ethanol that were simple and quick to manufacture.

He said that they assumed the ethanol was coming from Nakuru County and urged citizens to alert authorities to win the campaign against illegal brews in the region.
