Kimani Mbugua, a former Citizen TV host, has requested assistance due to his difficult financial circumstances.

Kimani Mbugua claimed in a video posted on social media that he was given a bipolar disorder diagnosis in 2020 and that people had grown bored and tired of him by then.

The journalist disclosed that he currently has no place to live and owes Ksh 1.7 million in debt. He admitted that he could not repay a car loan because he had been out of work for two years.

" I am homeless, I just have my bag with me, the people I was living with said they couldn't host me anymore and asked me to look for an alternative."

After leaving the hospital last week, he said in the video that he had become weary of suffering secretly and decided to beg for assistance. His illness cost him a lot, losing his career and the patience of his friends who tried to help him.

Kimani Mbugua seeks a partner to work with in the company he is forming for creatives. He has a business strategy and a client proposal.

After using marijuana excessively the previous year, Kimani experienced a psychotic episode and was subsequently confined to a mental health facility.

In the most recent video, he said that he has been sober for two months and is working to rebuild his life.
