All Cabinet Secretaries (CSs) and their Principal Secretaries (PSs) convened at the State House for a ministerial performance contract signing event.

The contracts outlined specific targets and goals that ministries and offices must achieve during their respective tenures.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, who also serves as the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, signed three performance contracts. This was due to his additional responsibilities as the acting CS for the Interior Ministry and the Gender, Culture, Arts, and Heritage Ministry.

The Interior Ministry CS position became vacant after Kithure Kindiki was appointed Deputy President following Rigathi Gachagua's impeachment.

The Gender, Culture, Arts, and Heritage Ministry remains without a CS after Stella Lang’at, a seasoned administrator, failed to secure the position. Despite being nominated by the President, the parliamentary committee deemed her performance during the vetting process inadequate.

During the ceremony, President William Ruto emphasized the importance of commitment, urging the Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries to remain focused on their mandates and prioritize delivering quality services to Kenyans.

He expressed confidence in the government's ability to meet its goals and overcome challenges, asserting that Kenya's progress would ultimately silence critics.
