The outdoor Nova Festival event in a rural farmland area near the Gaza-Israel border turned deadly after Gaza militants fired rockets at them, causing them to scatter.

The horrific incident was just one of several venues targeted on Saturday morning by Hamas militants in their most persistent and coordinated attack inside Israel.

The attackers killed several people on the site, while others were taken hostage and seen being captured by their armed captors in social media recordings.

The Nova Festival was supposed to be an all-night dance extravaganza commemorating the Jewish festival of Sukkot. However, as dawn broke, Gibly reported hearing sirens and rockets.

"We didn't even have any place to hide because we were at [an] open space," she was quoted as saying by CNN. "Everyone got so panicked and started to take their stuff."

Explosions can be heard in a video by Gibly of herself and her friends traveling through the rapidly emptying festival grounds, around two kilometers from the border.

"Ima'le," someone may be heard saying, a frequent Israeli exclamation of dread or surprise.

Gibly and the others had no idea that Gaza terrorists had begun targeting Israeli tanks and soldiers less than two miles away.

In Gaza City, rockets are fired towards Israel from Gaza. On Saturday, rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel from Gaza City.

An Israeli military vehicle is seen traveling against the flow of traffic in videos taken by Gibly as bystanders try to make room for it. Someone yelled from outside the car as if to say, "Go! Go ahead! "Go ahead!"

That's when Gibly and her pals said they panicked, got out of the car, and started running.

A viral video on social media showed hundreds of people abandoning their automobiles and rushing across an empty field while gunshots echoed in the background.
