Police officers in Tennessee are investigating the death of a seven-year-old girl who died while popping her birthday balloons.
According to her mother, Channa Kelly, Alexandra Hope Kelly died Sunday. She describes her child as a sweet and wonderful girl who loves swimming.
“She was wonderful, so vivacious and independent,” Channa said. “She loved swimming, was a little fish. She was absolutely amazing, just the sweetest little girl with a big heart. She was amazing.”

Channa stated that Alexandra was using scissors to pop her birthday balloons when she left the room to lie down.
When Channa returned to the living room, she discovered Alexandra lying face down with the balloon over her head.
"I want people to know so they can be aware," she told me. "It was her birthday balloon that took my baby." It's difficult to grasp."
Alexandra turned seven years old on September 22.
Clinton police informed WVLT News that the event is being investigated and that the cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
