Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua promised to get President Ruto 100% of the votes in Mt Kenya in the 2027 presidential election.

During a church service in Nandi County, where he presided over fundraising at the Kapsabet ACK church, Gachagua committed to uniting the people of the Mountain behind President William Ruto.

Gachagua appreciated his efforts in delivering 87% of the Mount Kenya votes to President Ruto during the last elections.

"I am looking for the 13% which I lost to give William Ruto 100% of votes in the 2027 General Elections," he said.

He emphasized that President Ruto's path to victory, like his 2022 win, is contingent on Mount Kenya uniting. The second head of state asked residents of the region to support the Kenya Kwanza administration and ignore opposing opinions.

"Now, why are people interpreting this as a problem? He (Ruto) is seeking votes from Azimio supporters who were coerced into joining the political party through intimidation. "I want to rally everyone behind President William Ruto," he added.

President William Ruto's recent remarks during a visit to Homabay County, in which he (Ruto) indicated that Azimio la Umoja coalition leader Raila Odinga owed him a political debt, prompted Gachagua's remarks.

President Ruto emphasized his commitment to a united nation, stressing that Kenya should not resemble a shareholders' firm.

He condemned political prejudice and urged Kenyans not to be influenced by divisive discourse. Instead, he emphasized the government's mission to spread development throughout the country.
