The British High Commission in Kenya has announced that King Charles III of the United Kingdom and his wife, Queen Camilla, will visit Kenya from October 31 to November 3.
The commission stated in a statement released on Wednesday, October 11, that the four-day visit aimed to celebrate and enhance the two countries' friendship. This will be King Charles III's first visit to kenya after ascending to the throne.
"The visit is at President Ruto's invitation and comes as Kenya prepares to celebrate 60 years of independence." "His Majesty's first visit to a Commonwealth nation as King is thus to the country where Queen Elizabeth II's reign began, having acceded to the throne in Kenya in February 1952," reads a portion of the statement.

They are anticipated to meet President William Ruto, First Lady Rachel Ruto, government officials, and other entities during their visit.
The king and the queen will visit a new museum dedicated to Kenya's history, lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior at Uhuru Gardens, and see the site of Kenya's independence proclamation in 1963.
During the four days, they will also attend a celebration of the late Nobel Laureate Professor Wangari Maathai's life and work, along with Wangari's daughter, Wanjira Mathai.
Following that, His Majesty will visit a technology exhibition to meet Kenyan entrepreneurs pushing innovation in the country's tech industry. Queen Camilla will meet with survivors of sexual and gender-based abuse to discover how they may be helped.
