CS Moses Kuria has warned government service delivery personnel who did not attend the handover ceremony on Monday, telling them not to try his patience because he is in charge of the payroll.

The Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management, who took over for Aisha Jumwa and now leads the newly constituted Ministry of Gender, Culture, Arts, and Heritage, has warned that he will not spare anyone who displays symptoms of laxity as he tries to simplify service delivery to Kenyans.

"I know I haven't seen anyone from the government service delivery section here. "Let me tell those officers, don't try me," he stated at the Harambee House gathering.

"I'll also remind you that I'm in charge of your payroll, so kaa karibu na mimi."

CS Kuria also stated that he would dismantle industry norms, saying Kenyans should be the ministry's top priority.

"I have two customers: the 9,000 government employees and the general public." The 55 million Kenyans are the second set of customers."

"The wage bill consumes 52% of our revenue, and in my opinion, we must choose between public service and employment." Kenyans do not owe you a job; they owe you service."

To get things started, Kuria stated that he plans to go around the country to speak with all public officials to further his goals.

He also stated his intention to work hard in the workplace and enhance the ministry's performance.

"The president delegated to me responsibilities for service delivery and performance. I'm an expert in business process engineering. Those are skills I want to bring here with me," he said.
