Four people are nursing serious injuries among them a child following a fire incident at a change den at the Bogisanga 2 area in North Mugirango Nyamira County.
According to police officers, the incident occurred after a container used to brew second-generation liquor burst into flames.
“The four were rushed to hospital by good Samaritans,” Evans Raini, a resident says.
County Commissioner Onesmus Kyatha warned those behind the sale of illicit brew of serious consequences.
A recent report by the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) showed that Nyanza region is second in the consumption of the popular home-brewed spirit chang’aa as well as traditional brew.
