Cleophas Malala, the secretary general of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), has undone modifications that a portion of the UDA leadership made in the Nairobi County Assembly.

Instead, to discuss the alleged modifications and determine the points of conflict, the SG called a meeting for all of the elected UDA MCAs in Nairobi on Thursday.

MCAs have suggested Waithera Chege as their minority leader and Joyce Muthoni as their minority whip. The letter was sent to the county assembly speaker intending to oust minority leader Antony Kiragu and minority whip Mark Mugambi.

The status quo will persist until TThursday'smeeting, according to SG Malala, who also stated that the party will maintain its neutrality in the face of requests to replace the party leadership in the house.

“We shall meet at 10 a.m. to establish who is in support of this motion and who is not. As a secretariat, we will be fair; if the signatures are presented to support the bid, even if the leaders involved are my friends, I will not hesitate to let them go,” Malala said on Monday.

“will go with the majority… as for the issue of the minority leader, we shall still follow the law, which says the speaker must first communicate. That has not happened yet, and until then, the people in question maintain their positions.” Still, the beleaguered MCAs assert that ''foreign forces are attempting to exert pressure on UDA leadership matters in the county.

Malala asked the MCAs to maintain their composure and unity in the face of division so that Governor Johnson SSakaja'scounty administration could function effectively.
