Riziki Murega, daughter to Governor Kawira's husband Murega Baichu and a university student, has reached out to the Kenyan community for assistance in settling her remaining school fees amounting to Ksh150,000. This support is crucial for her to be able to take her final year exams.

During a media interaction on Sunday, she shared her apprehension about her current predicament and appealed to kind-hearted individuals to step forward and aid her in successfully finishing her Education degree at Murang'a University.

In the interview, the young woman disclosed that she does not share the most harmonious relationship with Meru's leading figure, and has encountered multiple disagreements with him in the past.

"My efforts to reach him (Murega) have been futile. Every time I have tried to contact him in the past, I received negative responses. I have not spoken to him in over eight years," she remarked.

As per the student's account, her mother is unable to cover her tuition fees, as the limited income she receives is allocated for essential expenses like providing meals for the family and addressing pressing needs such as her younger siblings' high school fees.

In light of this, Riziki earnestly appealed to fellow Kenyans to assist her in settling her fees before the commencement of the year-end examinations.

"Throughout my academic journey, I have been supported by well-wishers and I will always be grateful. I am once more appealing to you as my people to help me raise fees, accommodation, and meal money until I finish in May 2024," she pleaded.

Reportedly, despite being a government-sponsored student, the fees have accumulated for a minimum of three semesters.

At 22 years old, Riziki is the eldest of three siblings and has been under the care of her mother since the separation between her mother and Baichu, who subsequently married the embattled Meru governor, Kawira Mwangaza.

Riziki voiced her concern that the escalating cost of education in the country has further exacerbated her financial predicament.
