Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka believes that the problems facing Meru County's administration are political and stem from their cultural prejudices against women.
According to Onyonka, the video put before the House by Mwangaza's defense team during Wednesday's session revealed a shocking disclosure of Meru's perception of women.
Onyonka was alluding to a video in which Tigania East MP Mpuru Aburi was seen on camera verbally criticizing her for not having children with her present husband.

MP Mpuru Aburi is filmed in one of the videos that made the Governor cry, angrily abusing her for not having children with her present husband.
The MP is filmed giving a charged address while rubbing a stick between his palms and speaking in Meru vernacular.
When asked by her attorney to inform the Senate what the MP said, Governor Kawira responds:
"He's saying he's given me nine months to get pregnant if that doesn't happen. "He'll do it through what he's holding," Kawira says before breaking down in tears.
He contended that, despite the MCAs' compelling case against Mwangaza, the video was the deciding factor, altering the course of the impeachment process.
"I think the team that was against Mwangaza lost because Meru's problem was a mix of the cultural hate on the woman, not that all women in Meru hate women but there's that thing."
The member said the county's political problems may be resolved amicably without exacerbating them nationally.
"The problems you have in Meru were political and when you try to analyse the scenario it takes alot of energy to analyse the political implication of what has been happening in Meru," he said.
Onyonka said that the leadership needs to get back to the drawing board. The MCAs did their job, though it looked like they were the hatchet men, and there is a need for more knowledge on how counties should be managed.
