President William Ruto touched down in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Friday morning.


His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Governor of Riyadh, welcomed Ruto to Saudi Arabia.

He is expected to attend the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center for the first Saudi-African Summit.

According to the event organizers, the summit will be attended by fifty leaders from the Middle East and Africa.


The other African leaders in the delegation were Presidents Bola Tinubu of Nigeria, Isaias Afwerki of Eritrea, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema of Gabon, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani of Mauritius, Prithvirajsing Roopun of Mauritius, Lazarus Chakwera of Malawi, Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania, and Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine of Nigerien.

Enhancing political coordination, addressing threats to regional security, promoting economic transformation through research and local development of new energy solutions, and boosting investment cooperation are the goals of the first Saudi-African summit.
