Four Kisumu Day Secondary School form four students were arrested on Monday evening after they were allegedly found smoking bhang in the school compound.
The boys, three aged 18 while the other 17 were released on police cash bail to allow them to sit the remaining KCSE papers before being charged.
According to Kisumu Central sub-county Police Commander Peter Mulai, the decision to release them on cash bail occurred after a meeting between the police, their parents, and the school administration.
However, Mulai said the four will appear before a court of law upon completing the ongoing examinations to face charges of being in possession of bhang.
Mulai says the boys will also face a separate charge of forcefully breaking into a room where they were busted smoking the bhang after using a master key to gain access.
