Two foreigners have been arrested after being found in possession of explosives used for gold exploration with a street value of Kes 9 million along the border of Kenya and Tanzania.

According to Migori County Police Commander Francis Nguli, the suspects and the explosives were arrested and nabbed, respectively, following a tip-off by members of the public.

Nguli said the suspects were transporting the explosives to an unknown destination using a probox when the police arrested them.

He claimed that the explosives were being smuggled into the nation from Tanzania illegally and that the detained suspects lacked the necessary travel documents to remain in the country lawfully.

According to the county police commander, the two suspects are being held while additional investigation and arraignment take place.

Mr. Nguli praised the people for alerting the security guards, who could also act quickly, about the incident.

He said that to halt illegal commerce along Kenya's and Tanzania's borders, the police will continue collaborating closely with the general public.
