The government has formally started distributing 100 mobile grain dryers, which can dry 14 tons of maize in two hours and will be dispersed throughout the nation.

Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi officially opened the dryers at the Eldoret National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) depot on Tuesday. She stated that this will significantly assist farmers in lowering post-harvest losses, resulting in higher farmer earnings and a more stable grain reserve for the nation.

To take advantage of government subsidy programs like subsidized fertilizer to improve food and nutrition security in our nation, the CS urged maize farmers to continue registering in the ongoing farmer registration exercise.

According to Linturi, the NCPB has received sufficient funding from the government to buy maize from farmers.

Governor Jonathan Bii of Uasin Gishu and Soy MP David Kiplagat accompanied the CS, expressing their belief that the action will tremendously benefit farmers, particularly during this rainy season.
