Seven people were killed, and several more were injured in a road accident on the Eldoret-Nakuru Highway.
The 7:20 a.m. accident at the Eveready roundabout occurred after the driver of a trailer lost control of his vehicle before driving into a matatu, which then collided with another trailer, according to police.
The three vehicles were on their way from Eldoret to Nakuru.
"On reaching the location of the accident, the driver of the vehicle reg.no KCG 355Y/ZE1279 lost control and rammed into a Ngata Sacco matatu reg. no. KBK 254C which consequently moved on and rammed into the other trailer KDB341D/ZG4149 ," a police report documenting the incident reads in part.

"As a result of the impact, 5 people died on the spot and several others sustained serious injuries from both motor vehicles."
Two more people are said to have died while being treated.
The injured people were transferred to Nakuru Level V Hospital for treatment, while the debris of the vehicles was towed to Kaptembwo Police Station.
