Western Kenyan political leaders have urged President William Ruto to address the country's cost of living.
The leaders, led by DAP-Kenya party head Eugene Wamalwa, emphasized the hardship on Kenyan households due to multiple levies.
Wamalwa stated that he did not sign the paper because of the purported exclusion of critical cost of living considerations in the National Dialogue Committee's report.

"Zakayo alisema hawezi shukisha ushuru na hiyo ndio sababu nilikataa kutia sahihi huo mkataba," Wamalwa told the crowd.
His comments were supported by Luanda MP Dick Maungu, who urged Ruto to cut the pricing of necessary necessities or resign.
"Ashukishe bei ya bidhaa chini akishindwa kushikisha ashuke mwenyewe," he said.
The leaders expressed their worries while opening a grassroots recruiting drive in Bungoma County, where Wamalwa welcomed defectors to his political movement.
