Suna West Parliamentarian Peter Masara has expressed concerns about the integrity of the national exam in the nation and has urged the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) and the Ministry of Education to step up.

Masara stated that numerous concerns regarding integrity had been brought up regarding the way the county-administered the national exam. To give Kenyans confidence in the national examination, the exam body and the Ministry of Education must act quickly.

The lawmaker claimed that the results of the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education and Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exams raised concerns about the integrity the ministry needed to address.

Masara stated that the disparities observed in the 2023 national exams were absent during the time of the late Prof. George Magoha and former Education Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang'i.

He asserted that Ezekiel Machogu, the nation's current cabinet secretary for education, must address the problems jeopardizing the exams' validity.
