In protest of the school's allegedly ongoing poor performance in the KCSE exams from the previous year, irate parents blocked the gates of Moiben, Uasin Gishu County's Mafuta Secondary School on Thursday.

The parents, who believe the Principal has failed in his duty to the students, have staged protests around the neighborhood to demand the Principal's resignation.

The top candidate received a D+, while the remaining received a D-.

"We are here as parents of Mafuta Secondary School. What you can see from the results is devastating. We have like 20 Es. The first boy has a D+. If this Principal is here to serve, why are we having these kind of results?" Posed Mike Bett, a parent at the school.

"0.003 ni mean grade gani hiyo?" said board chair Muhammad Abdi. Tangu huyu miaka saba watoto wameanguka, mwalimu aletwe hapa. Idhini ya board bila kuchukua na kuuza mali ya shule, yeye.

The parents who physically removed the Principal from the school have accused him of acting arbitrarily and not consulting the board of management or the parents. They also claim that the Principal frequently leaves the school to run personal errands.

The parents report that the school's highest mean grade in the past seven years was 2.0, and the institution has performed appallingly for the past seven years with no sign of improvement.

Board Chair Abdi stated: “Karatasi alipewa kuwa Principal hata hajahitimu, watoto wetu ameumiza, tunataka leo hii atoke.”

“Tumekuwa tukilalamika lakini hatujafaulu. Huyu principal amekuwa mnyama, hashughuliki na watoto, ako hapo kwa shughuli zake, hana haja na watoto hadi watoto wetu waanguke hivo,” said another parent, Jeniffer Keter.

However, the Principal has defended the school's appalling performance, claiming that the parents have contaminated the classroom and made it impossible for him to carry out his duties efficiently.

“Mean grade ilikuwa 1.0. If you're not supported, there's no way you can produce...if you're frog marched the way you're seeing now, there's no way," said Principal Chrispinus Mukenya.

Later, the disgruntled parents went to the nearby Mafuta Primary School, where a similar scenario unfolded.

Parents have urged the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to step in and protect their children's futures due to the primary school's poor performance over the past few years.
