The Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) impounded four trucks over the weekend for trying to smuggle avocados to Tanzania at the Namanga Border post in Kajiado County.

Officials from the AFA, on a tip-off, laid ambush on the individuals, and the trucks are now being held at the Namanga Border Post.

The drivers will be arraigned in court for contravening the provisions of the Crops Act 2013 and Crops (Horticulture) Regulations 2020.
