In a press conference, Meru governor Kawira and her husband implicated UDA Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi, accusing him of disseminating inaccurate information regarding Sniper's demise.

Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza, alongside her husband Murega Baichu, conducted a press briefing urging the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to make public their conclusions in the investigation into the murder of Meru blogger Daniel Muthiani, also known as Sniper.

Murega stated that the late blogger had never criticized Governor Kawira's administration but rather that of Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi. He further urged Itumbi to present proof of Sniper's criticisms against Kawira's government.

In response to the press conference, Itumbi took to his social media profiles, advocating for justice for Sniper and emphasizing the sentiment by quoting a Bible verse.

"John 8:32: And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall SET you free. #JusticeForSniper

My response to the questions thrown my way in that Press Conference - Saturday, 20th January, 2023," Itumbi posted.

Nevertheless, Kawira strongly objected to Itumbi's quote, expressing her dissatisfaction and advising him to refrain from involving himself in Meru matters, urging him to leave such issues to the people of Meru.

Additionally, she recommended that Itumbi focus on the case involving former Citizen TV Anchor Jackie Maribe and her ex-boyfriend Jowie Irungu, who are the primary suspects in the murder of businesswoman Monoca Kimani.

"Pambana na ya maribe na Jowi.Ya Meru huwezani.nkts," Kawira to Itumbi.

Responding, Itumbi told Kawira that he will not tire to fight for justice for Sniper’s murder and that no one will cut off his freedom of expression.
