Didmus Barasa, the MP for Kimilili, has clarified the purported misappropriation of area Development Funds (CDF) in the area.

This comes after an audit report from the State Department of Public Works revealed the dangers certain student populations in Kimilili schools face due to subpar construction work.

According to the findings, ten of the twelve schools in Kimilili have structurally unsafe classrooms.

Speaking at his Kimilili residence during a meeting with stakeholders on Saturday, Barasa asserted that the report was a purposeful objective meant to obstruct county growth.

He associated the study's publication, which he denounced as inaccurate, with the UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala and a former constituency finance officer.

On February 14, 2018, Barasa asserted that the financial officer worked for Kimilili as a CDF accountant.

Additionally, he hired Malala as a finance officer at the UDA headquarters in 2023, the year she was appointed to his post at UDA. The officer, he says, is Malala's sister-in-law.

But he said he had a grudge against Malala because of his nasty political remarks.

"There was a time Malala was threatening our leaders among them Mudavadi and Wetangula. I called a meeting with journalists and I told Malala that he will face the music if he continues with that behaviour," said Barasa.

"He called me one day and told me I will finish you and I asked him if he is God for him to finish me. I have not heard from him since then."

Barasa therefore noted that amid the ongoing tiff, the officer was briefing Malala on the constituency's audit reports which gave him (Malala) ammunition to fire back.

"He was being briefed with this lady and he calls me and tells me that I have looted CDF money and that he has my file," said Barasa.

Barasa has faulted the finance officer for providing a false document that has been used to frustrate his ambitions to run for Bungoma County governorship seat.

"Anybody who will try to stand on my path to occupy the pedestal that God has prepared for me God will deal with you, you will not live to discuss," he said.

"From next week I will not be cooling down, I will be more hotter. Wakitaka kujinyonga waende wajinyonge."
