Police in Rarieda are investigating the discovery of a suspected human skull that was retrieved from Lake Victoria waters near Kabuong’ beach on Wednesday evening.

According to Citizen digital, police say it was reported by Magdaline Anyango Nindo that she received information from fishermen that they had retrieved a skull which was believed to belong to her husband James Nindo Obiero.

The husband James Nindo Obiero was allegedly killed by a crocodile at Kabuong village in March 2023 and his body has never been found to date.

Officers from Aram police station visited the scene and found the suspected human skull on the lake shore.

 Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo confirmed the incident saying the scene was processed and the suspected human skull moved to Madiany sub-county hospital mortuary pending identification and confirmation of the DNA sampling.
