Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has threatened to sue a businessman for allegedly defaming him after he accused the senator of murder.

Khalwale accused Cleophas Shimanyula, aka Toto, of making "scandalous, defamatory, false, baseless, and unfounded claims" on social media, contesting the police findings in the death of his worker Kizito Amukune Moi.

Speaking to the media at Malinya Police Station after making a statement on Tuesday, Khalwale accused the Kakamega County government contractor of depicting him as a "murderer" and his wives as "prostitutes" in a viral video.

He said that the footage called Moi's death into question, implying that he was stabbed by the lawmaker rather than suffering injuries from the bull assault.

Khalwale further denied that he influenced the police in their report on Moi's death, stating that he would use all available methods, including legal action, to discredit erroneous reports that have caused serious personal and business injury.

Khalwale's decorated fighter bull, known as 'Inasio' across Western Kenya, gored and murdered Moi, 47, at his home in Shikhuyu village, Kakamega County.

Dr. Johansen Oduor, a government pathologist, conducted a second autopsy last week, allaying concerns about Moi's death and confirming Khalwale's account of events.
