St. Mary's School in Nairobi has extended its condolences for the late Kenyan actor Charles Ouda, affectionately known as 'Charli.'
In a condolence letter posted on social media by Ouda's partner, Ciru Muriuki, the prestigious school expressed deep sorrow over Ouda's passing, acknowledging him as an individual with a profound passion for acting and the arts.
The school celebrated its thirteenth anniversary, a time that coincided with the late actor's student years.
Despite graduating over two decades ago, he consistently returned, becoming a source of inspiration for students during various school arts events.
"We are saddened to learn about the unexpected death of our former student Charles J. Ouda. We remember Charles as a young boy who joined us in 1990 in Class 1, until 2003 when he completed the IB program," the St. Mary's School letter expressed.

The letter continued, "Charles was a cheerful person who had a great passion for acting and the arts.
He used to come and motivate various artists during the school's music events for many years. May his soul rest in eternal peace. With much compassion."
The school also disclosed that the late actor had served as a dormitory captain during his student days. Additionally, they shared an old motivational quote from Ouda:
"In life, we have two choices. We can lead or follow. Throughout my years at St. Mary's, I was honored to follow the well-laid path for me. In every music, sports, and activity undertaken, I gained a lot from those who led. Now, through life's calls and experiences here, I have learned that I no longer need to follow; my destiny is to lead."
Ouda, a multifaceted talent in acting, writing, directing, TV presenting, voice artistry, and singing, commenced his career in 2002.
His final public appearance was at an event organized for actors of the 'Salem Show' on Maisha Magic, during which he encouraged his friends, noting that "they survived."
