The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) has arrested 129 individuals in a crackdown that hunted down illegal pharmaceutical activities.
According to PPB, they arrested the individuals in Western, Nairobi, and South Rift regions In a joint operation with the Ministry of Health and the National Drug Regulatory Authority.
Speaking on X, the Board revealed they recovered 200 cartons of illicit medicines.

The Crackdown kicked off on January 29 and focused on pharmaceutical premises that illegally distributed unregistered medicines, posing a significant health risk.
The PPB head of enforcement and surveillance, Kaluai Julius, has cautioned the public against purchasing medicines from unauthorized and authorized sources.
Additionally, he has called on pharmaceutical practitioners to review and update pharmaceutical transportation processes to enhance efficiency.
Healthcare facilities handling pharmaceuticals have further been urged to apply online for the disposal of pharmaceutical waste or contact PPB regional officers for assistance
