The High Court has dismissed a case contesting the implementation of the Affordable Housing Bill 2023.
Lawrence Opiuo, a Kisumu-based activist had filled a motition criticising the process, claiming that the National Assembly "was unusually and unprecedentedly fast-tracking" the Affordable Housing Act legislation while ignoring the needed public input.
However, the court stated that public hearings and consultation with stakeholders and experts ended on January 30 and that it would not intervene with the legislative process.
