Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has threatened to sue the Nation Media Group over a forgery allegation over the appointment of Jacque Maribe stalemate.

In a tweet on his X platform, Kuria says he never confirmed Maribe's appointment as the Head of Communication in the Public Service Commission Ministry.

Further, he called upon the article's author to provide evidence that he confirmed that the Public Service Commission appointed Maribe.

“I have since alerted Mr Gitagama that the said screenshot is a forgery. And I will be at DCI Headquarters at 9.30am tomorrow to report the Nation Media Group and the reporter of fraud and forgery.”

However, he has reaffirmed he will stand with Maribe despite the controversies and unjustified bullying that surround her ever since he was acquitted in the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.

“Contrary to reports by the Nation, I have never been interviewed by the media House nor made any comment nor announcement about Jacque Maribe. I have challenged CEO Stephen Gitagama to provide evidence from one Mwangi Muiruri who wrote the article.”

This comes a day after the PSC denied appointing Maribe as the head of communications at the Public Service Ministry.

In a statement released Thursday, PSC Chairperson Anthony Muchiri indicated that “no such appointment has been made nor has a request to employ her been received by the board.”

“For the record, the said position will be filled through a competitive recruitment process should a vacancy arise,” he said.

Maribe, who had been charged alongside her former fiancé Joseph Irungu, alias Jowie, was acquitted of the murder of the businesswoman who was killed at her apartment in Nairobi’s Kilimani area in 2018.

In her ruling, Justice Grace Nzioka said that there was insufficient evidence linking Maribe to the murder, emphasizing that the prosecution had failed to provide substantial proof of her involvement in the crime.

"There was no evidence that she had ever communicated with the deceased. The evidence that the prosecution has brought before this court on the second accused person relates to events of September 20, 2018, and that is the shooting incident," noted Justice Nzioka.

Maribe’s ex-fiancé, Jowie, was found guilty of Monica’s murder and was handed the death sentence on March 13.
