The deputy base commander in Narok lost his life in a head-on collision on Monday morning when his saloon car collided with an approaching lorry on the Narok-Bomet road.
A police report states that Commander Calvins Ochieng Onganda was driving from Bomet when he tried to pass a lorry and collided with an approaching one.
Part of the statement said, "As a result of the impact, both vehicles landed on the right side of the road as one faces Bomet direction."
Onganda is reported to have died instantly after suffering severe injuries to his chest and legs.

Awaiting an autopsy, his body has been transported to Longisa County Referral Hospital.
In addition, the vehicles were towed to the Ololulunga Police Station for examination.
