There was drama at a baraza in the Ngomongo district of Kutus, Kirinyaga County, as a chief and his aide were threatened to be fired by Kirinyaga County Commissioner Hussein Allasown over failure to tame illicit brew.
The administrators were only spared due to public cries for forgiveness.
The two incurred the wrath of the County Commissioner following the discovery of unlawful brew at a den in their neighborhood and the arrest of a suspect with Ksh.1 million in cash.

Mr. Allasow demanded the two explain where they were during the raid and why they had not proceeded against the brewer before the bigger security force took action.
"Hawa wawili nawalaumu—hawa nitawakaanga. Siwezi kuwasamehea; wamefanya kazi gani? Mpaka DC, OCPD wakuje ashike watu hapa; hawa walikuwa wanafanya kazi gani? Chief, ulikuwa anafanya kazi gani hapa? Sichezi na me..."Siwezi kumsameha," he declared.
"If you are an Assistant Chief in this area, and you are the first to consume illicit brew, how will you stop the menace?"
The Chief and his assistant were permitted to continue serving but were cautioned that the illicit brew danger must be eradicated.
